The Gallery is our ode and our service to Pune: our city of art and culture. The Gallery is a space that nobody owns but everybody belongs to. It’s an x square-foot space dedicated to artists, thinkers and creators. The Gallery is minimal in its design – a bare concrete structure with the historic frame of a textile mill. We want the art it houses to do the talking.
The Gallery was inaugurated on 21 September 2019 by Mrs Muktaji Tilak, Honourable Mayor of Pune City and Dr Juergen Mohard, German Consul General, Mumbai.
The opening show ‘Beyond What Appears’ was an intense experimental journey crafted by renowned local artists Ruby Jhunjhunwala and Hrishikesh Pawar. They used the elements of ceramics, imagery, dance, movement, music and community to trigger awareness and curiosity. The show travelled through various emotions that finally lead to ‘acceptence’.
